I’m a writer. I’ve always been a writer but it has taken quite some time to become a novelist – and a published one at that.
Life got in the way. It’s not as easy as one would think to juggle a full time job with writing a novel and caring for a veritable menagerie of furry friends whilst still trying to find time to eat, sleep and exercise!
They say ‘write what you know’, so I did.
In a public relations career that spanned more than two decades I worked for some of the world’s biggest sporting companies. With this came an access-all-areas pass to some of the greatest sporting events on the planet where I saw for myself the tension, drama and emotions that were played out behind the scenes.
While TV audiences around the world watched the sporting excitement unfold, I was there to witness first-hand what really happened before and afterwards – the untold stories the rest of the world never got to see. Using this unique insight into the tangled lives and loves of professional athletes I developed the idea that eventually became The Sweet Spot.
I am currently tapping into my wealth of experience to write the second book in the Appleton Vale series – The Country Club. It is a follow-up to The Sweet Spot and revisits the charming residents of the West Chesterton village and takes you behind the scenes of its ultra-exclusive country club, The Riverside.
I live in a village much like Appleton Vale that is nestled against the foothills of the South Downs. I spend my days writing, walking the dogs – Hector and Milo – and riding my New Forest Pony Henry. The dogs share my house; the horse has his own rather spacious accommodation.
I'm always happy to hear from book lovers across the world, especially the ones patiently waiting for The Country Club to spring into life, so please get in touch with your questions or comments and I'll be happy to respond.
